CARY - Wednesday’s boys soccer match between Cary and Middle Creek could have given one team a leg up in the early race for the Tri-Nine Conference’s fifth-and-final playoff spot.

But it didn’t.

After 100 minutes of soccer – two 10-minute overtime periods plus 80 minutes of regulation – neither the Imps (2-6-1, 1-4-1) nor the Mustangs (4-5-1, 2-2-1) could find the goal. The 0-0 tie kept both teams stationary in the conference standings.
