CARY — The Cary Imps used a big second half from Trevion Hackney to blow out Cardinal Gibbons 47-26 on Friday night.
Hackney scored on back-to-back possession in the third quarter to pad what had been a 20-19 halftime lead.
He finished with five touchdowns, including four rushing. Hackney had 117 yards rushing and Isaiah Gibbons had 134.
“My O-line stepped up tonight,” Gibbons said. “We just hit all the holes, and had a big time game tonight. We need to build on that though. I think in the future we’re going to be way better than we are now if our o-line keeps working hard in practice.”
The Cary offensive line made the difference for Cary. The Imps ran the ball 69 times, piling up 289 yards and six touchdowns.
