Cougars Win CC Holiday Tournament

The Cougars put together solid back to back performances to win the 53rd annual Clinton Central Holiday Tournament. The Cougars defeated Clinton Prairie in the semi-finals Friday night 61-37 behing a strong second half performace. Eric Miller led  Carroll with 18 points. Brady Wiles and Jarin Bush also scored in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively.

On Saturday night the Cougars used a strong thrid quarter to creat distance between themselves and the Tri-Central Trojans. Carroll held off a furious Trojan 4th quarter run to win the game 39-34. 


Carroll head Coach Matt Weaver became only the 3rd person ever to win the tournament as a player (Clinton Prairie) and a coach (Carroll). The other two names on that list (Dave Driggs, Carroll-player, Tri-Central- Coach and Jeff Hodson, Clinton Central- player, Carroll- coach) also have Carroll ties. Carroll's Jarrin Bush was named to the All-Tournament team and Eric Miller was named tournament MVP.
