Cougars Drop Heartbreaker to Trojans

Carroll Jr.-Sr. High SchoolThe Carroll Cougars lost a heartbreaker to the Tri-Central Trojans Friday night. The loss drops the Cougars to 1-2 (0-1 in conference play) on the season. The Trojans (3-0, 1-0 in conference play), led by Austin Horn (197 yards, 14 carries, 1 touchdown) rushed for 390 yards as they outscored the Cougars 36-14 in the second half. The Cougars were led by senior Ryan Spesard (95 yards, 16 carries, 1 touchdown and 3 reception, 90 yards, 2 touchdowns) and sophomore quarterback Jared Miller ( 8 of 14, 198 yards, 2 touchdowns). Carroll will return to action next Friday night at home against conference their conference foe the Sheridan Blackhawks. Kickoff is slated for 7:30.
