Home » Boys' Golf NewsCardinal Drop a Close Battle to Green BearsSeptember 2, 2011 By Chad Rutkowski of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High SchoolToday, the TAAC three game winning streak came to an end at the hands of Ottawa Hills. Just 3 strokes separated the Stritch boys golf team from being all alone in first place and possibly receiving the first seed in the TAAC golf championship. But, the season is far from over and the boys know that there is more work to be done. Senior Shane Goetz lead the way with a score of 41 on the front side of Chippewa Golf Club. Derek Scott got right back on track with a 43 after shooting a 48 against Rossford on Tuesday. First year varsity players Cody Clayton (46) and Sam Harrison (45) also scored well to help the Cardinals. Cody and Sam have both been a very positive addition to the Stritch golf team. The boys are looking to get back on track this Monday as they travel to Bedford Hills to take on in league opponent Emmanuel Christian.Â
