Cards Fall To Rebels
January 27, 2013Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School
The Cardinals traveled to Division 1 (11-3) Bowsher Tuesday and played a hard game
but fell 93-71. The Cardinals came out and did a nice job running their offense
and had many open shots in the first quarter, but just could not capitalize. They were
behind 28-14 after one period. Stritch came out strong in the second quarter and cut
the Rebels lead to 8pts. However, missed lay-ups cost the Cardinals a chance to
get any closer and they found themselves down 49-33 at the half. The theme of
the night for the Cardinals was missed opportunities (lay-ups) as they did not
back down and played very hard against the Rebels. Stritch came out strong in the second half and cut the Rebels lead to 10pts., but that was the closest the Cardinals came to the Rebels.
The Cardinals fall to 8-6 overall and stay, tied for 2nd place with a 5-2 record in
the TAAC League. They were led by Joey Cousino's 25pts and 7 rebounds, Austin Adam's had a
double-double with 16pts, 11 rebounds. Helping out in the scoring were Brooks Gasser with
8pts, 7 rebounds , Robbie Bekier 7pts, Jacob Empie 4pts., Jo-Jo McVicker 4pts., Cody
