Home » Boys' Basketball NewsVarsity Cardinals Get 1st Win Of SeasonDecember 17, 2012 Cardinal Stritch Catholic High SchoolThe J.V. boys basketball team came away with a thrilling overtime win 29-27 against Emmanuel Christian Friday night to even their record at 2-2. They were led by Bobby Romstadt 9pts. and Joey Sinay's 8pts. The Boys Varsity team picked up their first win Friday night at league opponent Emmanuel Christian 64-41 to go to 1-3 in the young season.
The Cardinals came out very determined and played great team defense, holding Emmanuel Christian to 6pts in the first quarter and 10pts in the second to take a 31-16 halftime lead. The offense was clicking with good ball movement by the team which resulted in 9 players scoring.
The Cardinals were led by Austin Adams 21pts. and 6 rebounds. Joey Cousino also had a fine game with 13pts. Chipping in on the scoring were Robbie Bekier with 9pts - (3, 3 pointers), Jacob Empie 8pts., Joey Sinay 4pts., Travis Rodriguez 2pts,. Karl Zacharias 2pts., and Cody Clayton 2pts. Overall, a great effort by everyone.
