Freshman Win !st Game of Year

The Freshman boys basketball team came away with their first win of the season against Ottawa Hills 36-20 Monday night to run their 
record to 1-2. This young Freshman team took avantage of many 
opportunities on offense and played great defense. Every time Ottawa Hills made a run, the team came up with a great defensive standThe team was led by Tanner Langlois with 12pts.

The J.V had a very tough time Monday night as they fell to Ottawa
Hills 43-24 to fall to 0-2. The team did not play their usual good 
defense. They were rushing themselves on offense and were not 
playing with the intensity they usually have. The team was led by 
Tim Lynn with 9pts.

The Varsity team played a hard fought game on Monday against 
Ottawa Hills but came out on the short end 52-49 to fall to 0-2 on theseason. The Cardinals held a 17-14 lead after one period and at
half time the Cardinals maintained a 3pt. lead 28-25. The Cardinals 
built the lead to 7pts with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. TheCardinals tried to buy time and run the offense, but costly turnovers and missed shots helped Ottawa Hills tie the score entering the final period at 35-35.

The Cardinals fell behind early in the 4th and were down by 7pts
with about two and a half minutes left in the game. To the Cardinals credit they never gave up and picked up their intensity and cut the 
Green Bears lead to 3 with 12 seconds left in the game. The 
Cardinals came up with a great defensive steal at their end of the
court with 6 seconds left in the game but missed a shot at the end.

It was a great team effort by the Cardinals. They  were led by Austin Adams with 18 and Joey Cousino chipped in with 12. Robbie
Bekier had 7, JoJo McVicker with a great overall game had 4, Cody Clayton and Jake Empie both had 3, Brooks Gasser with 2.
