Home » Cross Country NewsTim Lynn Races Well at RegionalsNovember 15, 2012 By Chad Rutkowski of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High SchoolThe 2012 cross country season came to a close for the Cardinals on Saturday, October 27th, at the Youngstown Regional meet. Racing at Boardman H.S., Tim Lynn finished in 76th place with a time of 18:18.3 for the 5,000 meter course. The races were held in a light but steady rain in 46 degree temperatures. Tim ran a 5:21 for the first mile but was not able to sustain the pace for the entire race. Only the top four teams and the top sixteen individuals qualified to the state meet next weekend at National Trail Raceway in Hebron. The only individual from the Bettsville District to qualify in the top sixteen was District Champion, Jonathan Albaugh (6th) of New London. District Champion New London (3rd) was also the only team from the Bettsville District to earn a trip to the state meet. As a sophomore, Tim has several more opportunities to reach the state meet in track and field and in cross country. Despite losing team captain Jake Lynn to graduation, the boys team should remain a top contender in the TAAC and the girls team shows signs of steady improvement. Special thanks to the Cardinal Stritch Athletic Department for their help in hosting three championship events this season at our home cross country course, Maumee Bay State Park.
