Home » Volleyball NewsStritch Volleyball Wins DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP!October 28, 2012 By Chad Rutkowski of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High SchoolDefiance, OH - Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School defeats Ayersville High School in three straight sets last night to claim the first District Championship in school history since 2004 (Baseball) and the first in Volleyball since 1999. The Cardinals defeated the Pilots 25-19, 25-22, 25-15 and were lead by Seniors Briyanna Axtell and Sara Turner-Smith with 8 kills each, Junior Setter Autumn Crawford issued 25 assists and Senior Libero, Abby Mass lead the team with 12 digs. As a team, the Cardinals hit .203, with 27 kills, 6 blocks, and had 34 digs in their quest for a run at the State Championship! The Cardinals will play Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Elida High School at 6:00pm. Tickets for this game go on sale at CSCHS at 9:00am on Monday, October 29, 2012.
