In the varsity girls race, Toledo Christian also repeated as team champion with a low score of 23 points.  Gibsonburg finished in second place with 36, followed by Danbury (104), Cardinal Stritch (107), and Ottawa Hills (109).  Emmanuel Christian and Northwood did not field complete teams.  As she has all year, Rosa Mondragon led the Cardinals with a tenth place finish (22:13.1) to earn second-team All-TAAC.  Cailyn Horna made a fine finishing sprint to capture 23rd (24:40.9), followed closely by freshman Abbie Reichert in 26th (25:03.6).  Completing the girls scoring was Hannah Tucker (38, 29:47.9), Emily Turski (39, 30:07.2) and Jessica Zavela (40, 30:07.6).
The Kateri Academy had several outstanding efforts in the junior high championship races.  Andrew Flowers received a first-team All-TAAC award for his fourth place effort (12:37.6) in the boys race.  In the girls race, Alexandrea Derrer ran to an 8th place finish (15:36.5) and seventh grader Brook Jennings captured 12th place (15:55.6).  The Gibsonburg boys and the Ottawa Hills girls reigned supreme as junior high team champions this year.  Congratulations to the Cardinal Stritch Athletic Department for again hosting a successful league championship event!
The varsity cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, October 20th, at the District Championships, held at Eells Park in Bettsville.  The boys team will compete in District 3, scheduled to begin at 2:20 PM.  The girls team will compete in District 1, beginning at 3:00 PM.  The top four teams and the top 16 individuals will advance to Regional competition the following Saturday.
