Byrnes Defeats Greer

Both JV and Varsity were victorious in their first home scrimmage versus Greer.  The JV team defeated Greer 2-0 (25-22, 25-22) while the Varsity won 3-1 (27-25,25-12, 21-25, 25-20).  The JV team was led by sophomore Ka'Leah Alverson who had 5 kills and 4 aces.  Freshman Shianne Adams had 9 assists and sophomore Jessica Sanders had 5 assists to lead the team in setting.  Freshman Becca Schell played great defense with 8 digs and sophomore Carson Earnhardt, freshman Jacey King and 7th-grader Mikenzie Mullins had 3 kills each to add to the win.

Morgan Allen, Sr, led the Varsity team with a double-double of 10 assists and 15 digs to go along with her 3 aces and 8 kills.  Destiny Condra-Bogan, Jr, had a great match with 8 assists and 3 aces.  NaScottisha Drummond, So, showed dominance at the net with 7 kills and 2 blocks.  Caroline Shin, Sr, played great defense with 20 digs.  Kristen McCraw, Jr, led the team in serve receive and had 5 kills.  Brooke Waldrop, Fr, served 3 aces and provided 2 blocks at middle.

The next scrimmage will be Thursday, August 23 against Blue Ridge.
