Warrensburg Falls to Clinton

January 29, 2013
By Bob Rickman of Warrensburg Girls Basketball

The Lady Tigers returned to West Central Conference play at home Tuesday night. Turnovers doomed Warrensburg as they fell 48-37 to Clinton.

"We started out the game with too many turnovers," WHS Coach Bob Rickman. "We cannot give our opponent that many opportunities at easy baskets and expect to stay close."

Clinton jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game, but Warrensburg battled and cut the margin to 14-8 by the end of the first quarter. The Lady Cardinals added to their lead in the 2nd quarter, taking a 25-14 lead at halftime.

The Lady Tigers played even in the second half with Clinton, but could never close the gap.

Warrensburg was paced by 13 points from Taylor Geis, and Jessica Tiller added nine points.

The Lady Tigers hit the road Friday to play Smith-Cotton at 5:30.
