Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Tigers Fall in Third Place GameJanuary 27, 2013 By Bob Rickman of Warrensburg Girls BasketballLebanon made 10 more free throws on the night, which proved to be the difference as Warrensburg Lady Tigers fell 60-50 in the third place game of the Clinton Tournament on Friday night. "Lebanon was able to get to the free throw line 15 more times than us, and connected on 10 more than we did," Lady Tigers coach Bob Rickman said. "That was the biggest difference in the game." For a second game in a row, the Lady Tigers have come across an opponent that shot the ball well from three point range. In Wednesday's semifinals Clinton made 5 of 10, and Lebanon finished connecting on 6 of 12 three pointers. "It is hard to overcome when teams shoot that well from the three point line," Rickman said. The Lady Tigers also had success from beyond the arc, making nine threes, but on 26 attempts. Mackinsey Cunconan connected on three, and finished with a game high 14 points. Rebekka Strahle added 9 points and 13 rebounds. Warrensburg returns to action on Tuesday night in conference play at home against Clinton. The Lady Tigers hope to improve on their 5-12 mark and 0-2 conference record. "Despite our record, I feel good about what we can accomplish in our last eight games," Rickman said. "This team has evolved so much, and really has improved throughout the season."
