Base: Clinton Central gains split with 14-5 romp past Clinton Prairie

By E. Shawn Aylsworth of Clinton Central Jr Sr High SchoolOne day after blowing a three-run lead late in the contest against its arch rival, visiting Clinton Central responded with a 14-5 victory over Clinton Prairie April 13.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings, then added seven more in the final two frames after Prairie had rallied to come within 7-5.
Jeff Scott once again was huge offensively, going 3 for 3 with two runs batted in. Four other Bulldogs have two-hit efforts, while five Central hitters had multiple-RBI games led by the three runs knocked in by A.J. Bradley.
Starter Jake Abbott allowed three earned runs over four innings, collecting six strikeouts and walking two for the Bulldogs. Cole Simmons surrendered four hits but only one run in three innings of relief to get the save.
