Swimmers Second At Conference

Kearney swimmers ended their season Wednesday at the Suburban Conference meet. The Bulldogs placed second ahead of Liberty North, Platte County, and Oak Park.

Staley won the conference title.

The Dawgs earned 18 individual medals and three relay medals. High point swimmer for the meet was Jarod Keller with his bronze medal finish in the 50 Free and fourth place finish in the 100 Free.

Tyler Thorne added a fourth place finish in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 Fly. Adam Lechner medaled finishing fourth in the 100 Breaststroke and seventh in the 100 Free.

Eric Baldwin added to the medal count with a fifth place finish in the 100 Back and an eighth place finish in the 50 Free. Nick Bogue finished the night with two sixth place medals in the 200 IM and 100 Back.

Justin Thurman also added a sixth place finish in the 500 Free. Jake Daugherty finished sixth in the 100 Fly and eighth in the 200 Free.

Cody Roberts finished tied for sixth in the 100 Breaststroke and seventh in the 100 Fly earning two medals for his effort. Grant Mitton, Hunter Krause, and Chris Speakman all earned eighth place medals in their events rounding out the individual medal count.

The 200 Medley Relay (Eric, Adam, Jarod, and Tyler) and the 400 Free Relay (Nick, Justin, Eric, and Jake) both finished third and earned bronze medals. The 200 Free Relay of Tyler, Jake, Adam, and Jarod finished 2nd and received silver medals.
