The Kearney baseball team played the second round of the Northland Tournament on Tuesday in a cold mist.
"Brandon Jackson put us on his back and again and carried us on the mound. (He threw) a complete game shut out," Coach Shane Remley said.
Kearney beat Park Hill South, 3-0. Donnie Chesney drove in two of the three runs with Alec Witt driving in the other run. The Dogs play the last round of pool play today at home against Excelsior Springs at 4:00.
