Bulldog BroadcastingThe Kearney girls basketball team lost its home opener to Blue Springs, 34-31 Thursday.
Kearney was down by 10 at half time and battled back to get within one, but couldn’t quite get over the hump.
Kearney was led in scoring by Allie Hess and Mackenzie Cook with 8 points each.
The girls play in the Liberty North Tournament on Monday at 4 pm against the Cameron Dragons.
The Kearney JV Girls basketball also came up short, 37-30.
Morgan Holloway and Paige Weakley each had 12 points to lead the Bulldogs' scoring.
The JV girls host a tournament next week. Kearney will play Fort Osage Tuesday at 6:30.
