Homecoming Football Broadcast On Tape Delay

October 5, 2012
Bulldog Broadcasting

Sometimes things do not work out, and that is what will happen with tonight's broadcast of the Kearney vs. Staley football broadcast. Then again, sometimes some cool things do happen.

"I had hoped we could air it live, but it would cost around $80 to do that," Kearney broadcasting adviser Lyndall Dodson said. "We tried to do that last month and could not get it to work. We did not want to waste the money this month for one shot at it."

Look for the broadcast to begin around one hour from the conclusion of the actual game.

However, there will be a first tonight. Kearney and Staley broadcasting students will work together to produce the game coverage.

"The two schools teamed together last winter to air the District wrestling tournament at Staley High School," Dodson said. "The students from both schools worked hard at that event. These are great opportunity for the students from both schools to learn from each other."

Kearney students have worked with other school to produce football broadcasts.

"Last year we traveled to Liberty and joined with the program there to air the Kearney-Liberty North game," Dodson said. "Two weeks ago some of my students went to Platte City to work with Platte County High School on the Bulldogs-Pirates game. It was the first broadcast for Platte County, and I think both school enjoyed the experience."
