Home » Swimming & Diving NewsSwimming and Diving BS vs LCDecember 9, 2011 By Kevin Minnick of Bryan Station High SchoolThis past weekend the Bryan Station Swim team competed in a dual meet against Lexington Catholic. As a team we were extremely competitive coming up only 13 points shy of winning the meet. In this same meet last season we lost by over 50 points! What a great improvement! We had several great performances and even a team record broken.
To recap, the Women's 200 Freestyle relay finished with a time of 1:59.07 consisting of Eleanor Mooney, Lauren Guilfoil, Arianna Abad, and Alli Peoples, breaking the previous record set last year at a time of 1:59.77.
In the Women's 100 Breaststroke Bryan Station Freshman Alli Peoples took 3rd in the event with a clip of 1:16.99. Hallie Scanlon who also competed in the 100 Breaststroke improved on her last years time by over two full seconds finishing with a time of 1:35.11 and taking 5th place.
In the Women's 50 Freestyle Lauren Guilfoil took second place in the event with a time of 29.86 improving on her time from last season by a full second. Also, Katelin Turley, a Bryan Station Swim Team newcomer, competed in the event and went a time of 35.25 seconds taking 6th in the event.
The Bryan Station boys took a toll on the Catholic by taking victories in both the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 200 Medley Relay. Also taking victories on the individual side in the 200 IM (Evan Rushing), 50 Freestyle (Jackson Lucas), 100 Fly (Isaiah Lewis), 100 Free (Evan Rushing), and 100 Backstroke (Jackson Lucas). Jackson Lucas in the 50 Freestyle finished the event with a time of 28.86 and improving his time from last season by a second and a half.
