Home » Wrestling NewsWrestling drops pair of matchesJanuary 18, 2013 Bryan High SchoolFrom Head Coach Josh Montgomery: Bryan wrestling traveled to Evergreen tonight to wrestle Archbold and Swanton in a NWOAL Quad. In the first match we wrestled Swanton and came out on the losing end 45-33. In the second match we wrestled Archbold and lost 62-15. Winning both of their matches tonight were Shelden Struble and Wes Walter. Also winning tonight were Rian Green, Skyler Nagel, Sam Breneman, Gavin Saul, and Brock Nagel. Coming into the match, I felt we were in great position to beat Swanton and if things went well to possibly beat Archbold. However, giving up 3-4 matches to do to forfeits is hard to come. In addition, we had to bump people around do to guys not making weight or just being more disciplined as a whole. Because of this some of our younger guys had to step in and fill the holes. As a staff we feel we are right there at making that turn to be successful, especially after coming off these last two weeks where we competed extremely well at two very tough tournaments. If we want to be respected and recognize, we must do a better that at taking care of our own business and being more disciplined. However, our guys need to have a short memory as we must regroup and get ready for tomorrow and Saturday's Napoleon Gold Medal Duals. This weekend will be a good test to see if we can regroup and come out with intensity and urgency needed to be successful. We need to find that attitude to succeed. Our JV's will be wrestling at Lake on Saturday and Eastwood on Monday. A lot of opportunities to get better and gain valuable experience at all levels.
