Home » Swimming & Diving NewsSwimming sweeps Springfield and WauseonJanuary 15, 2013 By Chris Malanga of Bryan High SchoolThe Bryan swim teams continued their successful run, sweeping a double dual meet on Thursday against Springfield and Wauseon. In the boys meet, Bryan defeated Springfield 66-32 and Wauseon 71-27. Bryan swept the relays, winning the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays. In the 200 medley relay, Hayden Hageman, Greyson Spangler, Bryce Alabata and Shea Vogelsong won with a time of 1:56.57. Alabata, Michael Sheridan, Matt Frame and Spangler won the 200 free at 1:40.64. The 400 free relay of Frame, Hageman, Alabata and Sheridan finished first with a time of 3:46.14. Bryan had first place finishes from Frame in the 100 and 200 free, Sheridan in the 200 IM?and 100 fly, Alabata in the 50 free, Spangler in the 100 breaststroke and 500 free, and Brandon Poncsak in diving.
The Lady Bears defeated Springfield 63-33 and Wauseon 55-45. The girls also swept the relays. The 200 medley relay of Jo Jo Rode, Lauren Chaney, Olivia Smith and Courtney Rode finished in first with a time of 1:59.96. The 200 free relay of Annika Shaffer, Lindsey Bockover, Courtney Rode and Chaney won in 1:48.83. The 400 free relay of Shaffer, Smith, Jo Jo Rode and Courtney Rode won with a time of 4:01.03. Chaney finished first in the 200 IM? and 100 breastroke. JoJo Rode won the 50 free and 100 backstroke, while Olivia Smith finished first in the 100 butterfly and Annika Shaffer won the 100 free.
