From Coach Josh Montgomery:

This weekend we wrestled at Marion County Invite, held at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Overall we finished 12th with 148.5 points out of 34 teams.

Once again this was a great tournament that provided us with an opportunity to get a lot of matches and quality matches at the same time. As a staff, we feel our guys are starting to get better; while not everyone placed,  they all earned a win throughout the two day tournament.

Placing for us were Shelden Struble 2nd at 145, Wes Walter 4th @ 152, Gavin Saul 6th @160, Bronson Beck 6th @ 220, and Justen Shepherd 5th @ HWT. Also winning, was Austin Owen, Rian Green, Sam Breneman, Skyler Nagel, and Brock Nagel.

As mentioned our guys are starting to get better, and the work they put in, in the practice room is starting to pay off. We are by no means where we want to be, but if we continue to work and improve on the things we need to; we will continue to see improvements.

Our next match is Thursday, in a league quad at Evergreen against Archbold and Swanton. This will be another good test to see where we are at in the league. We wrestled Archbold earlier in the year, so it will be nice how we do and see what improvements we have made since the first time. After that we will travel Napoleon on Friday and Saturday for the Gold Medal Duals.

Our regular season is starting to wind down and we will continue to get prepared as the second part of the season begins with league in a couple weeks.
