The Bryan Golden Bear wrestling team finished 7th as team in the 2-day JC Gorman invite. Leading the way was Shelden Struble at 152 with an individual championship. With the win, Shelden improves his record to 19-1.
Also placing were Wes Walter (2nd at 160), Justen Shepherd (4th at hwt) and Skyler Nagel (6th at 138). Others winning but not placing were Rian Green (3-2 at 126), Antonio Ramos (1-2 at 145), Gavin Saul (1-2 at 170), and Bronson Beck (1-2 at 220).
Overall great weekend, our freshman are starting to turn the page with our older guys. This was a great opportunity to see teams in our district as well as other solid teams in D1 and D3. While it was a long haul, the guys seemed to enjoy the weekend as we got to hang out and stay the night.
This was a nice tune up for next weekend's Marion invite. However we cannot rest on this and we must continue to work to get better. Some of our guys didn't do as well as they would have liked. But know this will help them for when it matters the most.
