Bryan, Stryker Set to Rematch
December 27, 2012By Zach Hazlett of Bryan High School
The Stryker Panthers and Bryan Lady Bears are set to square up in the finals of the Holiday Classic for the 2nd straight year.
In the first game of the evening the Stryker Panthers were too much to handle for the Fairview Apaches as Stryker went on to win this game 66-40. The Panthers had four ladies in double figures led by Conner Varner with 20, Connor Sullivan with 12, Christie Huston also poured in 12, and Hannah Doehrmann cleaning up the post with 10. Leading the way for Fairview was Brittany Conkey with 12 and Ali Hug with 10. Varner was named the Bill's Locker Room III Player of the Game
The second game featured the Bryan Lady Bears and the Paulding Panthers. The Bears defense was stellar as they forced 20+ turnovers on the evening in route to a 59-17 win. Paulding did not take a free throw until the 4th quarter and only scored two points in the second half. Lex Brown led the way with 10 points for the Lady Bears, while Abby Pease and Suzanne Reinhart both had 4 to lead Paulding. Brooke Vollmer was the Bill's Locker Room III Player of the Game.
Fairview and Paulding will play in the consolation game tipping at 6:00 PM tomorrow evening while Bryan and Stryker will compete in the championship game at roughly 7:30. You will be able to watch both games on BryanSports.com
