Lady Bears lose to Archbold

The Bryan Lady Bears basketball team took on the undefeated Archbold Blue Streaks Friday night in Bryan, losing by a score of 53-32.

The Lady Bears hung tough in the first quarter trailing 15-9. The second quarter scoring woes again plagued the Bears who were held scoreless in the quarter, and trailed the Blue Streaks 29-9 at half.

Bryan scored the first 9 points of the third period, holding Archbold scoreless for the first 6:30 to cut the lead to 11.  But Archbold scored the final 6 points to build the lead back to 17. The Blue Streaks out scored Bryan 18-14 in the 4th.

Bryan was led in scoring by Hannah Schimmoeller with 14, MaKayla Dennis and Rachel Fruth added 6 each. Fruth had 6 rebounds and Brooke Vollmer added 5.

Bryan takes on Liberty Center this coming Friday.
