Home » Volleyball NewsBryan loses first two of the seasonSeptember 15, 2012 By Chris Malanga of Bryan High SchoolAfter defeating Evergreen this week, the Lady Bears went 1-2 on Saturday at the Bath Tournament. In the first match, Bath defeated Bryan 15-25, 25-21, and 20-25. For Bryan, Makayla Dennis (6/6), Lydia Snavely (9/9), Danille Gurwell (8/8) and Alexa Brown (11/11) were all perfect in serving. Dennis added 16 assists, while Gurwell added 8 kills, and 5 blocks. Rachel Fruth had 5 kills, while Hannah Purk had 6 kills.
In the second match, Parkway defeated Bryan: 25-19, 21-25, and 17-25. Hannah Schimmoeller was a perfect 8/8 serving, while Snavely was 9/9 with 6 kills. Dennis added 10 kills and 12 assists, while Gurwell contributed 8 digs and 4 blocks. Brown also had 10 assists.
In the third match, Bryan defeated Old Fort: 25-17, and 25-18. Serving was again strong for the Bears with Schimmoeller 9/9, Snavely 8/8 and Gurwell 6/6. Dennis added 5 kills, while Fruth chipped in 9.
