COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The NJCAA national office announced the 2013-14 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards and Academic Teams of the Year Tuesday. Click the appropriate link below to view this year’s award winners.

2013-14 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year
During the 2013-14 academic year, the NJCAA saw 58,446 student-athletes compete on 3,705 teams in 28 different sports. Of those competitors, 3.08 percent – or 1,799 student-athletes – were recognized with academic awards for their achievements in the classroom. Receiving the highest honors with a 4.0 grade-point average, 171 student-athletes received the NJCAA Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence.
With minimal changes to its award program’s inception in 1983, the NJCAA has been annually recognizing the academic success of its student-athletes for 31 years.
About the NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards
The NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards were previously known as NJCAA Academic All-America honors. The NJCAA has renamed its academic awards to the following:
NJCAA Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence (4.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale)
NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement (3.80 – 3.99 on a 4.00 scale)
NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement (3.60 – 3.79 on a 4.00 scale)
About the NJCAA Academic Team Awards
The NJCAA recognizes the team with the highest overall GPA for their sport with the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year award. Teams that qualify with an overall GPA above 3.0 are also recognized as an NJCAA All-Academic Team.
