First Year player Adolfy Javier took the mound to start the game for the Broncos, and pitched 4 innings, giving up 5 runs, and striking out 5 in his region 15 debut on the season. The Broncos’ bats were alive all game long as they failed to score in only 1 of the 6 innings they were at bat. Mark Ycaza led the way with 2 hits and 3 RBIs in the opnener, Richie Bethea also posted 3 RBIs on the day. Omar Gomez finished out the day with 1 1/3 innings, 2 strikeouts, and allowed no runs or hits, as the Broncos won game 1 by a score of 14-7. Game 2 began shortly after and this time it was JV Monroe who jumped on top early, amassing a 6-2 lead by the second inning. Broncos Luis Ortiz started the game and allowed 7 runs in 3 1/3 innings pitched, while striking out 3. The bats were not as lively during the second game as the Broncos amounted 8 total hits, while scoring only 4 runs, and leaving 8 men on base for the game. Joan Rosado lead the way for the Broncos going 1-1 with 1 hit, 1 walk, and 2 RBIs on the day. The game ended with a final score of 7-4 in favor of JV Monroe as the Broncos split the opening day double-header one and one.
