Conference recap

  Last weekend the Lady Titans swim team took 3^rd place in conference behind Freeport who took 1^st place and Belvidere who placed 2^nd. The Titans got off to a rough start when diver Taylor Ferger got injured during her warmups. This set the Titans back a few points from the start. After this a 100 free swimmer got disqualified during her race. With these set backs the Titans were able to place third in the competition. The titans scored 241 points 7 points behind Belvidere's 248. Freeport scored 266 points breaking the Titans winning streak that dates back to 2006.

The Titans are now preparing for sectionals and they have a chance to send a couple girls down state with a little luck. Last year the team was able send Taylor Mollin as an individual in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.62 and Katherine Nelson as individual in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.18. The team also sent the 200 yard freestyle relay team that clocked in with a time of 1:39.52 at sectionals. To qualify as an individual or as a relay team the swimmers must place 1^st in there sectional or hit a standard qualifying time. To qualify in diving, divers have to either place 1^st in their sectional, or be in the next thirty-two top scoring divers from all the sectionals minus the swimmers who won their sectional. In diving Taylor Ferger will have a good shot at qualifying. For swimming the girls have a chance to qualify in relay events. Come support the Lady Titans at Byron this weekend.
