Home » Girls' Volleyball NewsBoylan ties for first in conferenceOctober 7, 2010 By justin frisch of Boylan Catholic BroadcastingWhen Boylan and Hononegh faced off last Tuesday night, it may have been considered the game of the year, and it did not disappoint. The Boylan girls volleyball team traveled to Hononegah's gymnasium Tuesday night in their final matchup of the season. Boylan came into the game with an 8-1 record in conference, with their only loss being to Hononegh in their first matchup. Hononegah won at Boylan already this year in two very close games to get the victory. From this viewer's perspective, the Lady Titans were a different team on Tuesday night. Brennya Weiskircher, a freshmen, was now on the varsity team. Anytime a freshmen is brought up to a varsity sport, a team knows that he or she is good and will help them win. Now she is starting for the varsity, and she really showed her worth on the court last night. Ise D'Angelo and Weiskircher had a combined total of 21 kills for Boylan tuesday night, allowing Boylan to run away winning the first two games to win the match. Even though the scores 25-21 and 25-22 seem close, the lady titans showed the most energy and momentum throughout the night. Both of the student sections were present and brought the factor of loudness. Each time a girl from the opposing team was serving all you could hear was screaming from the fans of the other team. The cheering of the student sections made the game seem even more intense. If Boylan finishes out the season without losing again, they will end up tying Hononegh for first place in conference. Boylan's team may be young, but they're definitely no team to glance over.
