Home » Girls' Soccer NewsConference Title Within ReachMay 9, 2012 By Sutton Wester of Boylan Catholic BroadcastingLast night the Titans took on the Belvidere North Blue Thunder for senior night. Allison Moorman, who tore her ACL for the second time, got to do the ceremonial kick off at the beginning of the game. After the kick, she was subbed off and the game resumed as normal. The Titans had great ball movement and combinations but couldn't seem to find the back of the net. Abby Reed and Sydney Wright connected twice at the twenty-first and twenty-eighth minute, with Reed getting the two goals and Wright getting the two assists. The Blue Thunder regrouped and scored after the second goal, cutting Boylan's lead in half. The girls didn't panic and attained their composure once again. The second half was dominated by Boylan. The Titans held possession for 70% of the time. Ball movement was crisp and clean. However, the girls could not find the back of the net. Boylan outshot Belvidere 12-1. At the seventy-eighth minute Sutton Wester received a through ball from Reed. She dribbled into the eighteen and placed the ball in the upper right corner for the Titan's third goal of the game. The game ended with that same score of 3-1. The Titans final game is this Thursday against the Belvidere High School Bucs. With a win, the Titans would clinch the NIC-10 conference title outright.
