Early lead not enough for Bobcats, drop 4-2 decision to Palmyra
Bowling Green Bobcats Varsity jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 4-2 to Palmyra on Friday.
A two-run home run by #5 gave Palmyra the lead in the fifth inning.
#30 got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over seven innings. #30 struck out seven, walked two and gave up five hits.
Cory Buchanan took the loss for Bowling Green Bobcats Varsity. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
The bottom of the first saw Bowling Green Bobcats Varsity take an early lead, 2-0. David Goddard kicked things off for Bowling Green Bobcats Varsity with a double. A groundout by Cory then moved David from second to third. Bowling Green Bobcats Varsity then tacked on more runs when Roy scored on a sacrifice fly by Corey Brown.
Palmyra didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the fifth inning when it scored on a two-run home run by #5.
