BG - L Fleming took the mound for Silex and threw a complete game from the mound and shut down the BG offense for the most part. Bowling Green had put themselves behind in the first inning committing three errors. The Lady Owls capitalized on the errors giving them four runs in the first. From there the Lady Cats had to battle back all game and fell short in the last inning. The final of the game was 5-3.
Conference Game 2: Wright City v. BG - W The girls came out to compete in their second conference game. Madison Ingram picked up her first varsity win, striking out seven batters and giving up three hits. The girls rallied behind her to put up 10 runs, winning the game 10-0 in five innings.
Conference Game 3: Van-Far v. BG - W The Lady Cats put together two runs in the first two innings, but Van-Far did not quit. The Indians made adjustments and stayed patient at the plate and put together a four run fourth inning. With no fence, Van-Far hit one into the gap and the ball kept rolling giving the Van-Far hitter a three run home run. BG got one run in the sixth to put it at 4-3. Then Michala Schroeder came into the game to pitch. She threw two scoreless innings and shut down the Van-Far hitters, allowing the Lady Cats to rally in the seventh on a game tying triple by Kelsey Scherder. With the bases loaded, BG took advantage of an error in the outfield putting them up 7-4 and didn't look back. Schroeder picked up the win as the Lady Cats moved to 3-7 on the season.
The Lady Cats will be playing Clopton on Thursday, 9/6.
