Boonville Silver Pirate Band puts on a show at Fayette
October 16, 2013By Lisa Moody of Boonville High School
The Boonville Silver Pirate Band traveled to Fayette, Missouri, on Saturday, October 5. After a waterlogged band day at Carrolton the week before, they were looking for some good weather to put on a show.
The band took the street for parade competition just past noon. The morning rain cleared away just in time for BHS band members to march on the street, and put up an effort that earned them an overall position 3, that being out of 10 schools for the parade competition.
Later in the day, the band marched to the field at about 5:30 p.m. A tremendous effort was put up, but was only good enough for a position 5 finish out of 10 schools for the field competition in Class 4A.
The Boonville Silver Pirate Marching Band will have its next performance for the Mass Band performance on October 18 for the halftime show at the football game against the Moberly Spartans.
