On Saturday, September 28, the Boonville Silver Pirate Band loaded their equipment and made their way to Carrollton. Due to rain, all of the Band Day events were postponed, but that did not bring down the energy of the band. At 1 o’clock, the Silver Pirate Band took to the streets for the parade part of the contest. With the crowd cheering them on, the band proudly marched the parade with what looked like no flaws. The judges would think otherwise though. In the reviews, they told the band that they were off on their marching, and bad at staying in step. Because of the safety hazard on the field from the rain, the band decided to leave without doing the field performance. The band ended up getting 4th in music, 5th on marching, 6th overall for parade, and last for field. The Band’s next performances will be a half-time show on Friday, October 4, and another contest in Fayette on Saturday, October 5.
