Home » Marching Band NewsThe World Famous Pie AuctionJanuary 31, 2013 By Lisa Moody of Boonville High SchoolOn Friday the 18th the Boonville bands had their famous world pie auction! These bands include 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands, and also the Boonville Silver Pirate band. This year we lost a main piece, John Ed Derrindinger passed away, the auctioneer of the pie auction. He has been there from the start, but they could not just stop the 18th annual pie auction. So, his recent son, Ed Derrindinger took hold of the event. There was a lot of laugher, jokes, and fun. All of the bands raised approx. $8,000 from the chili supper and the auction. This money will go towards instruments, food for music trips, instrument repairs and many more things. The Boonville bands are grateful to have such a wonderful crowd and an amazing fundraiser! Their goal for next year is to get $10,000. The next event for band will be the band music festival hosted by the Silver Pirate Band that will start in March.
