Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Pirates Take Home the Victory at the Eugene TournamentDecember 13, 2012 By Lisa Moody of Boonville High SchoolBoonville Lady Pirates played an outstanding tournament at Eugene. Sophomores Morgan Edwards and Addy Reardon along with the other varsity players played their hearts out playing the number 2 Russellville Indians at the Eugene tournament. They won a victory of 60-43. This allowed them to improve with a 2-1 this season. Because of this win the Lady Pirates took home third place in the tournament. Coach Hunziker said, “It was a total team effort on both ends of the floor. We definitely have to do a better job of closing out games by knocking down shots at the free-throw line. It was nice to see some balanced scoring as four Lady Pirates reached double digits. I was very pleased and proud of the girls on how they bounced back from the game against Blair Oaks. We hope to ride the momentum of the win into the Centralia Tournament.”
