Home » Boys' Basketball NewsPirates Face Setback against the Owls for Opening GameDecember 13, 2012 By Lisa Moody of Boonville High SchoolOn Monday, November 19, our Boys’ Pirate basketball team faced the Marshall Owls on our home turf for the season opener. Though they played well and fought hard against them, our Pirates lost the game 66-51. When asked how he felt about the game, Basketball Coach Scott Floyd commented, “I knew they were going to be a challenge. They had the same people from last year, so they had experienced players returning. But it’s only the first game.” The Junior Varsity team had better luck, beating the Owls 69-29. The Pirates’ next game will be Thursday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. against Smith-Cotton in Sedalia.
