Boy Bolts in College
Tis The Season...Golf Seasons Greetings!
December 10, 2013Northmont High School - Boys Golf
Greetings Golfers and Parents!
Over Thanksgiving break I had some time to reflect upon our 2013 golf season. The one conclusion that I kept arriving at was that we were so greatly improved from our 2012 campaign. When you go back and review the match results, our team and individual scores are lower across the board. Our JV team was outstanding and always pushed our varsity players to play better. We awarded nine varsity letters this season. When you account for the fact that only five or six players compete at a time, this is a testiment to the level of competitiion being displayed by our student athletes. I am very optomistic for where our team will go in the near future. We are knocking on the door of something special in 2014. I hope that I can get all of you on board the T-Bolt train because we are ready to move forward and bring the THUNDER in 2014!
Thank you parents for trusting me to work with your student athletes. Golf teamers, thank you for your hard work and dedication to our program. We are only as strong as our weakest link and we grow stronger as a unit out on the links!
Special Note: Bryce Timmons was recognized as the November Rotary Club Student Athlete of the Month. He and his family attended a luncheon where he received a nice plaque and was given the forum to share a few words with the entire Rotary Club about what the game of golf has meant to him. Kate Butler from the girls golf team was honored at this event as well. Congratulations Bryce and KB!
Please remember to maintain your high level of achievement in the classroom. It isn't too early to be thinking about how your classroom performance can effect your eligibility for golf in 2014.
Final Note: Per our agreement with Moss Creek Golf Club, all 2014 Moss Creek Memberships need to be purchased by March 31, 2014. Please see our link regarding required membership at Moss Creek. Memberships go on sale February 1st. The cost again is 300.00 for unlimited golf and 100.00 for unlimited driving range. The cost is $400.00 total and the best overall value for a junior membership in the area!
p.s. Can you challenge yourself to swing a golf club 100 times at home? If you do you will be amazed at the results you see when you get back to the driving range...Practice, Practice, Practice!
