2013 Thunder Classic Charity Golf Scramble
September 29, 2013Northmont High School - Boys Golf
Community Members, Colleagues and Friends,
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all that participated in the 17th Annual 2013 Northmont Thunder Classic Charity Golf Outing at Moss Creek Golf Club. This event serves as the main fundraiser for the Northmont Golf Parents Association (NGPA). The 118 golfers that participated helped to ensure the continued success of our boys and girls golf programs. Your contributions of time and financial donation will fund our annual scholarship program and help us continue to provide opportunities for our golfers to experience success on and off of the golf course.
The winning team in today's event shot a remarkable score of 19 under par (53). Coach Michael Hagens was the captain of that victorious squad. Rookie math teacher Chris Kincaid's foursome came in second with a total of 56 (-17). Special mention goes out to Robin Spiller and her foursome for being the low all female team. They won a scorecard layoff against the other all female squad (both teams shot -1 scores of 70). Congratulations ladies!
Our golf programs, the coaches, and our boosters organization could not be more grateful for the outpouring of support that we received from the Northmont community today. We hope this tradition of generosity continues for many years to come!
A special thank you to our outing chairman, Mr. Scott Krizner, for organizing a wonderful event. A lot goes into the behind the scenes activities to make this tournament run each year. This is not a paid position and Mr. Krizner put in many hours to ensure the events success. It should also be noted that the members of the NGPA go above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of our boys and girls golf programs. Without their tireless efforts, Northmont golf would not be as successful as it is today! Thank you president Sherrie Butler for you commitment as president during your daughter's time on the girls golf team!
We will see you on the links!
