Brigette Audette Breaks School Record

February 6, 2013
By Nate Chapman of Big Lake Girls Basketball

Brigette Audette now stands alone as Big Lake Basketball’s All-Time Leading Scorer. Audette eclipsed the scoring record of 1418 previously held Kim Bottema (‘90) Tuesday night when the Hornets traveled to Cambridge-Isanti to take on the Bluejackets. Audette scored 22 points in the losing effort.

Audette broke the school record on three point play after attacking the basket early in the second half. Despite hard contact Audette was able to get the jumper to fall and tie the record. The ensuing free-throw was all that stood between Audette and her place in history. Audette nailed the free-throw and now stands alone atop the records books.

This is the second big honor for Brigette Audette in the past two weeks. Last week Audette was named to the 2013 All-Star Series. Audette is one of ten players from Class AAA selected to play in the All-Star Series. The games will be played on April 26 and 27 on the campus of the University of St. Thomas.
