The Big Apple/Big Peach Battle is a weekend celebration of athletics, academics and community service, featuring a basketball showcase between the top boys and girls high school basketball teams from both New York and Georgia. The primary purpose of this event is to raise awareness and funds for the Saved By The Ball Foundation, Inc., Atlanta-based non-profit organization, which provides student-athletes with the academic, athletic and social tools necessary to become well-rounded, independent, confident leaders in the community.

The BABP Battle is not just a showcase of talented athletes, although many high-profile players are scheduled to appear: Robert Carter (2012), Shiloh, ESPN Top 25, #2 in Georgia, Mei-Lyn Bautista (2015), Mary Louis Academy, #1 point guard in class, Tony Bagtas (2013), Westlake, Justin Touyo (2012), Lovejoy High, Top 20 in Georgia, Kaliyah Mitchell (2013), Stephenson High, ESPN Top 100, and Trayvon Reed (2014), Shiloh High, ESPN #1 Player in the State of Georgia, to name a few.

Add former Heisman Trophy winner and New York Knicks Guard, Charlie Ward and WNBA Legend, Chamique Holdsclaw addressing the teams and you realize that this is a weekend that exposes student-athletes to the resources and to the individuals/organizations that make significant contributions to the positive achievements of student-athletes within the community and world.

"Dorian Lee, B'Ball 101, and the Saved By The Ball Foundation have fused a competitive event with a great cause", says Marques Burnett, iHigh Regional Manager, "Ten players in the Top 25 and 5 teams who placed top 5 in their respective state says alot about the talent involved."
