Adam Levine, Maroon 5 lead singer and coach on “The Voice,” dyed his hair platinum blonde on Saturday, May 3rd.

He posted a picture on Twitter with his fiancé, Behati Prinsloo, of his new hair with a caption saying, “Apocalypse prep course complete.”

On “The Voice,” Adam claimed that he didn’t know why he dyed it; he had the day off and he was just “bored.”

Also on the show that night, Blake Shelton compared Adam to Miley Cyrus, as well as Meg Ryan.

Savannah St. Peter, student at Byrnes Freshman Academy (BFA), said, “I don’t think his new hair fits his old look. But it’s his hair; he can do what he wants with it.”

There have been tweets all over Twitter criticizing Adam’s new hair style.

Natasha Viloria: “Adam Levine… I can’t deal with your blonde hair. Noooooo.”

Hattie Medsger: “I refuse to look at Adam Levine with blonde hair. I don’t want my perfect image of him ruined.”

Gabby Demco: “When you realize Adam Levine is now Miley Cyrus with facial hair.”

Sandra: “I used to have a crush on Adam Levine but… I guess I’m not attracted to blonde guys.…”

Adam stated on Twitter after seeing all the critical tweets, “I hope people understand that when they say my hair looks creepy, I take that as the highest compliment.”

Adam told E! News on May 6th that he does not understand why it is such a big deal, and yet again that he does not have a reason for his choice.

Adam’s semi-finalists on “The Voice,” Christina Grimmie and Kat Perkins, put blonde streaks in their hair this week in honor of their coach.
