This year the spring break dates for District Five Schools of Spartanburg County are April 7-11. Easter of 2014 will not be during spring break as it is usually.

Contrary to some rumors, the days students were out for snow in February will not be made up during spring break.

Some of the most crowded places for spring break according to www.travelandleisure.com are Lake Havasu, AZ; Nassau, Bahamas; Miami Beach, Florida; Venice beach, CA; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Daytona Beach, FL; New Orleans; Key West, FL; Myrtle Beach, SC; Panama City, FL; and Las Vegas.

Savannah Mullinax, a student at BFA, said she does not have plans for spring break.

Adrianna Carstensen, a student at BFA, said she does have plans for spring break, which are to go to the beach.

Savannah and Adrianna both said their favorite part of spring break is that there is “no school.” Adrianna added, “During spring break I usually sleep.”

Savannah echoed that thought but added, “During spring break I usually sleep and work.”

Mrs. Scott, a teacher at BFA, said that she has plans for spring break that her family and she are going to Folly Beach.

Scott elaborated, “My favorite part of spring break is not having to set my alarm clock.”  She said, during spring break she usually stays home and plays with her kids or sleep in.

Mrs. Distler, another teacher at BFA, said “I have plans for half of spring break.” Her favorite part of spring break is having a whole week to have a break from school and work.  She explained that her plans depended on several factors, “Usually for spring break it depends on the weather; if it’s nice out, I go to the beach, or visit family.”

Mr. Mcintyre, one of the teachers from BFA, said that he has plans for spring break already.  “Sometimes I go to visit my son in Orlando; other times I stay at home and work in the yard, and I like going to the mountains.”

He admitted, “My favorite part of spring break is when it’s very sunny, cool, and windy.”
