Home » Newspaper NewsBFA Newspaper is starting a new column called Dear Mary-AnneFebruary 5, 2013 James F Byrnes Freshman AcademyStudent journalists at BFA have started an advice column where students are free to ask questions about problems in their life and receive the guidance they need to survive high school days. An article like this will help young teenagers make good choices and help make our school a better place. To ask for advice, all you have to do is write a letter to “Mary-Anne” and explain your problem. Put a fake name that doesn’t reveal your identity so that your peers won’t know your personal information. Multiple student journalists, as well as the BFA guidance counselors, will review your letter to decide the choice that is best for your future and well being. Although we cannot reply to all letters we receive, we will respond to appropriate content in issues that seem to come up the most. Students in the past have asked questions about boyfriend/girlfriend issues, family problems, and what color shirt they should where tomorrow. Ask anything you would like, but try to be appropriate. After writing your letter, drop it in the Dear Mary-Anne box in Dr. Miles’ room located across from the library, room A-10. We will check the box everyday during second period. To check your response go to bfa.ihigh.com and look for an article titled Dear Mary-Anne with your nickname.
