The predicting of the NFL Draft
April 26, 2012James F Byrnes Freshman Academy
At eight o’clock on April 28, 2012, the 2012 NFL Draft will take place on ESPN to see who will be the new rookies on each team.
Many viewers are expecting to see the quarterbacks being chosen first.
According to Scouts Inc.’s Top 32, the two top picks are quarterbacks, Andrew Luck from Stanford, and Robert Griffin III, from Baylor.
Misael Martinez, a student at Byrnes Freshman Academy, said, “I think more teams will be after Andrew Luck, because he is more of a Peyton Manning quarterback than RG III is.”
Although the top two picks are quarterbacks, number three and four are right behind, as Matt Kalil Offensive Tackle from University of Southern California and Trent Richardson, a Running Back from Alabama.
Sterling Mathis, a wrestler at Byrnes High School, said, “I think Trent Richardson will be a first round pick because he is still young and has a lot of room for growing.”
South Carolina’s own, Defensive End, Melvin Ingram is ranked at number eight for the NFL draft pick.
Cornerback, Stephen Gilmore, from South Carolina, is ranked at number 19.
The University of South Carolina also has another draft pick, Alshon Jeffrey, a Wide Receiver.
Mazzy Carver, a softball player at Byrnes High School, said, “I think Alshon Jeffrey will be picked over the other South Carolina players because he had a really good season and is a good player all around.”
