Questions on RG3s Interview with Jon Gruden Begin to Rise
April 11, 2012James F Byrnes Freshman Academy
Many people are impressed with Robert Griffin III’s interview with Jon Gruden because he seemed so calm, cool, and collected during the half-hour show.
But many people are also questioning why Griffin’s interview was so based on his personality while soon-to-be NFL player Andrew Luck’s interview was based on plays and strategies.
Dan Graziano sought to contact Monday Night Football producer, Jay Rothman, to find this answer
Jay responded with, “In the case of RG3, he had such a great personality; the stuff he was giving us was compelling. Each of the shows has its own personality and feel, and I think at the end of the RG3 one, fans got a sense of what the kid was all about. In the body of the storytelling, you get a sense of the kid -- his personality, his smarts, all of that."
Griffin was asked the same questions and interviewed the same way, but his personality questions and answers were much more enticing and interesting than Luck’s.
Gruden occasionally brings in guests during the interview if he feels it is appropriate for the occasion.
During the interview with Robert Griffin III, Gruden brought in former NFL quarterback and number one pick Vinny Testaverde during the chalkboard session with Griffin.
According to the NFL Gridiron Gab, the Redskins have been meeting with RG3 to discuss the playbook before he is drafted.
Under the rules of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Redskins are not allowed to discuss the off-season program to Griffin just yet.
According to the rules, the Redskins are not breaking any boundaries discussing the playbook, especially since they are meeting with him in Waco, where Baylor University is located.
