Bergen defeats Union 4-3

Paramus, NJ- Bergen Community College's baseball traveled to Union County College on Wednesday. They came back with a victory over the Owls and sweeping their two game series. The Bulldogs won by the score of 4-3 and now have a record of 9-5 overall and 3-2 in the region.
Starting pitcher, Matt Kearns (River Vale), gets the win for the Bulldogs after he scattered two hits and strikes out four. Sophomore, Steven Gonzalez (Union City), went 2-4 with a walk. First baseman, Mike Richter (Dumont), went 1-3 with an RBI and two HBP. Centerfielder, Matt Dawkins (Englewood), scored twice and added a hit. Matt Moschovas (East Rutherford) was brought in to pinch hit in the eighth inning and had a clutch hit. Ben Pozo (Bogota) came in late in the game and earned the save. Ben came in the game with base loaded and one out. In dramatic fashion as he strikes out the next two batters and closed the door on the Owls.
The Bulldogs will now travel to Northampton CC & Atlantic Cape CC over the weekend. Bergen will play Northampton (8-2) on Saturday, April 5th at 12pm & then face Atlantic Cape (4-4) on Sunday, April 6th at 12pm.
