Paramus, NJ - The Bulldogs began their season 4-2 after returning from the spring trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.  They then won one of their four games this past weekend.  They are currently 5-5.

Bergen had some tough competition playing 4 Division I opponents and 5 Division II opponents.  The first win was against Division III Mohawk Valley CC by the score of 14-2.  They then won by the score of 10-9 on a walk off versus Division I Cheasepeak College .  The Bulldogs then defeated Division II Garret College 7-5 and Division II Ancilla College 9-5.  After two double headers the Bulldogs faced College of Southern Maryland at 9am and had a 4-0 lead in the last inning.  College of Southern Maryland was shut down by sophomore Mike Stec (Emerson) who was taken out in the final inning after allowing a couple hits and three runs.  Southern Maryland took advantage and scored 7 runs that final inning.  The score was 7-4, but the Bulldogs rallied and scored twice to make it 7-6.  That was not enough and Bergen left two runners on when Southern Maryland got the final out.  Sophomore, Matthew Dawkins (Englewood, NJ) had a tremendous week as he hit .346 with 4 doubles, 1 Triple, 1 Homerun, 7 runs scored, 12 RBIs, and 5 stolenbases.  Sophomore, Kevin Benjamin (Fairlawn), has also been crushing the ball.  Kevin is batting .429 with 2 doubles and 9 RBIs

After the losing to Southern Maryland the Bulldogs went on a 5 game losing streak.  The Bulldogs bounced back in the win column on Sunday when they came back from a 8-1 deficit.  They came back by scoring 9 runs in the fifth inning and shocking Division I ASA College.   The player  of the game was Ben Pozo (Bogota) who came in relief and shut down ASA. Ben received the win after posting 3.1 scoreless innings. The save was earned by Ezra Bye (Teaneck) who faced only one batter and earned his first save of the season.  The game winning hit came from shortstop, Dan O'Neil (Saddle Brook), who laced a two run double down the rightfield line.

The Bulldogs will now host Division II Westchester CC on Wednesday, March 26 at 3:30pm
